All refrigerators and freezers must have all doors removed. Any food debris must be removed prior to dumping. Transfer Station personnel has the right to refuse any load.

About the Transfer Station

The Clear Creek County Transfer Station accepts various sorts of materials and offers an extensive recycling program. The Transfer Station handles household trash, construction debris, furniture, appliances and other materials for a fee. The facility’s Recycle Center collects, at no charge, glass bottles and jars, numbered 1~7 plastics, cardboard, paper, various metals,and cooking oil. Our facility offers electronics recycling for your old TV’s, computers, and other miscellaneous electronics as well as batteries, fluorescent and grow bulbs for a fee. The professional and courteous staff will assist and guide you. In 2017 over 27,000 people utilized the Transfer Station; please stop by and visit our facility.For complete details on any program see the links to the left.

Free Recycling Program: 

The Clear Creek County Recycling Center accepts recyclable products free of charge; your recycles must be clean and sorted. This does not include electronics, batteries or bulbs. In 2017 the public recycled over 342 tons of plastic, paper, cardboard, glass and metal at the facility. Excellent job Clear Creek!

Electronics Recycling: 

Our electronics recycling program offers the public a place to bring their unwanted or broken electronic devices to be properly recycled for a fee. This program includes batteries, fluorescent and grow bulbs, ballasts, microwaves and smoke detectors. Colorado State law prohibits electronics in landfills.

Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Program:

For Clear Creek County residents only. Saturday June 4th, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Fee is $0.30 per lb. of material. Proof of residency is required. Absolutely NO group collections. Transfer Station personnel have the right to refuse any load. We cannot accept unlabeled or unknown products, leaking containers, commercially generated waste, prescription medication, lab waste, asbestos, shock sensitive materials, ammunition, fireworks, explosives or any other HHW deemed unsafe for storage and disposal by facility staff. Do not mix products. See the link on the left for more information on Household Hazardous Waste.

Fire Mitigation Program:

For Clear Creek County residents only. Starting April 15 through September 30, half price tree branches and pine needles ($6.00 per cubic yard). Proof of residency is required.

Out of county and commercial loads $18.00 per cubic yard.

No rocks, dirt or trash, no construction debris. All loads must be covered. Branches should be 4 inches or less in diameter and 8 feet or less in length. Any load not meeting this criteria will be charged the applicable rate.

Hand unload only, using the concrete blocks for tying off loads is not allowed. The Transfer Station offers a pull off for $20 for trailer loads only. Transfer Station personnel have the right to refuse any load.

Do you have only paint, stain and varnish to recycle?

Clear Creek County Transfer Station is now a PaintCare drop off location. Check the link to the left to view acceptable items.

Many paint stores now take back paint, stain, and varnish year-round during their regular business hours as part of the PaintCare program. The program is free for all residents and most businesses. Compost:

The Transfer Station offers screened compost. The compost material is low in salts and high in organic matter making it an excellent soil amendment for reclamation of disturbed soils, gardening or planting trees. The material is available for $14/cubic yard for Clear Creek residents and $16.50 per cubic yard for non-residents. See the link below for the compost analytical results.
