Sworn Hiring Process
The hiring process for sworn staff (such as patrol deputies and detentions deputies) involves a few more steps than hiring for non-sworn positions. The hiring process for sworn candidates may include the following, but not necessarily in this order:
- Application
- Personal History Questionnaire
- Oral board interview
- Integrity interview
- Computer Voice Stress Analyzer exam (the equivalent of a polygraph)
- Reference check (completed by us)
- Background check (completed by us)
- Physical agility test
- Psychological exam
- Medical exam
- Interview with Undersheriff Brown
A conditional job offer may be made before the psychological and medical exams are completed, on the condition the candidate passes those exams. A final job offer would be made upon successful completion of the required steps.
The hiring process may take 2 - 3 months to complete.
