County Sheriffs of Colorado (CSOC) Program Philosophy Statement

CSOC established a scholarship program in 1978 as a meaningful expression of Colorado sheriffs’ confidence in, and respect for, education and training. CSOC considers this an investment in the future and believes that our participation helps provide deserving students with an opportunity to make a positive contribution to society as a whole. CSOC awards approximately thirty $500 scholarships every academic school year. More information on the scholarship is available on CSOC's website at the link below.  

Scholarship Application Guidelines

Eligibility

Applicants are required to be full-time, legal residents of Clear Creek County, who plan to attend a university, college or trade school within the State of Colorado. There shall be no restrictions as to the course of study or training pursued.

Those who have received scholarships in previous years may apply again and be considered for an additional award.

No restrictions shall be placed by reason of race, creed, color, age, sex or national origin.

Terms

Applicants must maintain good standing in their chosen program.

Application Filing Deadline

Look for future year information in early 2027.

Selection

Applications will be reviewed by a committee selected by Sheriff Harris. This committee will select one scholarship recipient and two runners-up. This committee selects the winners based upon criteria established by CSOC, including leadership, merit, character, involvement, purpose, and need.

Announcement of Award

The scholarship award recipient is typically announced in May of the scholarship year.
