The County Engineer for Clear Creek County acts as the Floodplain Administrator for all areas in unincorporated Clear Creek County. Flood Damage Prevention Regulations are found in Chapter 12 of the Matters of State Interest (1041 Regulations). The County Engineer administers the floodplain regulations in order to maintain compliance with the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) in accordance with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) regulations promulgated in the Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) regulations as established in the CWCB Adopted Floodplain Rules and Regulations.
The officially adopted Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) can be found on the FEMA Website or hard copies may be viewed or purchased at the Clear Creek County Site Development office in the County Annex. The Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) boundaries may be viewed on the Clear Creek County ClearMap system. Any questions regarding the County’s Flood Damage Prevention Regulations, SFHA boundaries, FIRMs, or other flood hazard related questions should be directed to the County Engineer.
