County Manager
Responsibilities
The County Manager directs and assists in the day-to-day operation of Clear Creek County in accordance with the policies determined by the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC). In addition, the County Manager assists the Board in the development of county policies and goals that cover county operations, along with providing direction and support for special projects. The County Manager is selected by the Board of County Commissioners.
Meet County Manager Brian Bosshardt
Brian Bosshardt was appointed County Manager of Clear Creek County, Colorado by the Board of County Commissioners in June 2021. He previously served as City Manager of Bedford, Texas from 2017 to 2020, providing day-to-day oversight of a full-service city in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Brian served the City and County of Los Alamos County, New Mexico as Deputy County Manager from 2010 to 2017, providing oversight to the Community Services, Community Development, Human Resources, and Public Works departments. Other duties included intergovernmental affairs and facilitating an organizational excellence initiative focused on the internal operations of the County organization.
From 2001 to 2010, Brian held several positions with the City of Chandler, Arizona, including serving as the Organizational Development Administrator, where he operated as an internal consultant, responsible for designing and developing change management programs and organizational problem solving. He previously served Chandler as the Assistant to the Mayor & City Council and managed the Office of Neighborhood Programs.
Brian came to Chandler from the City of Westminster, Colorado where he worked as the Community Oriented Governance Coordinator, managing neighborhood outreach efforts from 1999-2001. Brian earned a master’s degree in Public Administration from Arizona State University and completed an undergraduate degree in Political Science at Hamline University in St Paul, Minnesota. He is a professionally trained facilitator.
In his current position, Brian serves as the chief executive officer for Clear Creek County, Colorado, responsible for the management of the County’s affairs and day-to-day operations. This includes the preparation and administration of the County’s annual operating and capital budgets, development and upkeep of critical infrastructure, services to support business development, the facilitation of economic development projects, and the delivery of emergency medical services. With an annual operating budget of more than $32 million and a team of 220 employees, he works closely with the Board of County Commissioners to implement their goals and meet the service expectations of Clear Creek’s residents, businesses, and visitors.
