Clear Creek Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Suspect in Stabbing Incident
At 11:00pm on Monday, March 16, 2026, Clear Creek Sheriff’s deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 400 block of Water St in Silver Plume. According to the reporting party, two men were involved in a physical fight at the home and during the fight, one of the men stabbed the other with a knife. Both men were still on scene when deputies arrived, and both were transported to a metro-area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The men are known to each other and there is no threat to the public. This is an ongoing investigation.
As a result of the apparent stabbing, deputies arrested Charles “Chaz” Standen on charges of 1st Degree Assault, Felony Menacing, Criminal Trespass, and 3rd Degree Assault. The 5th Judicial District Attorney’s Office will determine final charges. All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven otherwise through the judicial process.
