Effective at noon today, November 6, 2024, the Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) has rescinded the Stage 1 Fire Ban for all unincorporated areas of the county. The Stage 1 Fire Ban that went into effect on September 3 has been lifted due to significantly decreased wildland fire danger as a result of recent winter weather.
We encourage residents and visitors to remain diligent and exercise caution with open fires. While campfires are now allowed and do not require a permit, permits are required for slash burning and prescribed burns. Permits are available on Clear Creek County Fire Authority’s website at www.clearcreekfire.com/burn-permit-information-and-application, or at their location at 681 County Road 308 in Dumont, CO.
We remind Clear Creek County residents to register for Lookout Alert emergency notifications. In the event of an emergency, Lookout Alert is the quickest and most effective way to reach affected residents. Register for Lookout Alert at https://www.clearcreekcounty.us/781/Emergency-Notification-System.
Residents can also subscribe to receive fire ban notifications. When the Sheriff’s Office issues or rescinds a fire restriction or ban, subscribers will be notified via text or email.
